Pruning roses
I got out into the garden this weekend with the lovely weather and pruned some roses. Doesn’t look like much does it?! This is Rosa New Dawn which is a climber and has lovely pale pink, scented flowers. A really easy rose.
I’ve trained this over a doorway in the corner of the garden where two walls meet at right angles, put up criss-crossed wires between the two walls and tied the rose to these to bring it further out from the wall making a floral ‘porch-like’ entrance to the door.
Annual pruning means that it’ll have masses of flowers in the summer, and now’s the time to do it. I’ll post again when it’s in flower, can’t wait.
